Dada – A discussion with undertones

During the first World War, a cultural-aesthetic movement suddenly came into being, which called itself Dada – a specially chosen nonsensical name. Dada was to explode the forms and expression of the prevalent culture and set in its place the surprise of a spirit of improvised senselessness. Writers, painters and actors all took up the Dada banner in a playful, provocative and narcissistic march against bourgeois values and traditions. Dada soon disappeared from the world screen, but the seed had been sown; and there are still traces of Dada today.
