JoyceDada! An Echo Chamber

«Please contradict the rumour that it was I who founded Dadaism in Zurich», said Joyce jokingly to his brother, referring to a newspaper article. Joyce was no BallTzaraArp – nor a follower of «isms». He kept his distance from any one thing, by experimenting with everything. And so the word-rebels from Spiegelgasse did have some impact: in the many facets of Joyce’s work, Dadaism is not just a feeble echo. In this mosaic of readings, Joyce crashes with Dada; we see relatives and false friends, complemented by the sounds and splinters of objets trouvés.
