Tenir le temps

Rachid Ouramdane

In the impressive work Tenir le Temps, 15 dancers form a mechanical device which keeps overriding itself – in rhythmic movements, domino effects and chain reactions. We see clearly the individual body’s capacity to adapt: gender is no longer important and therefore disappears; and as a group, the bodies start to grow beyond themselves. The evening is set to the minimalist music of Jean-Baptiste Julien, which spirals endlessly into eternity.
